Brian Setzler

Every large successful business has a CFO. This C-Suite level team member brings tax, accounting, finance, and business acumen to the organization. Brian delivers that level of expertise and service to your company in a practical way on a part-time, fractional basis.

Brian is a unique CPA with decades of experience in business, sales, financial management and thought leadership. Our firm’s purpose is to help you be a better business in order to achieve your financial, business, and lifestyle goals. Beyond delivering tax and accounting expertise, Brian often helps with accountability, coaching, business strategy, and more.

Brian has a been a CPA for over 30 years, mostly serving the needs of small business entrepreneurs (Revenues up to $10 million). He started his career in the Audit Divisions of Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Anderson and Company. Seeking greater practical impact and deeper relationships, Brian shifted his goals from serving Fortune 500 corporations to serving the needs of smaller entrepreneurs and helping them achieve their dreams.

Brian holds an MBA in Sustainable Business and has taught accounting and finance to MBA students. He has developed and taught courses to other CPAs on sustainability, fraud prevention, and advising start-up businesses. Brian was the Founder and President of TriLibrium, a Portland, Oregon based CPA firm that was the first CPA firm in the country to achieve B-Corporation certification. Brian formerly held Series 7 and 66 Securities licenses and insurance licenses as the founder of TriLibrium Wealth Management, and though no longer licensed, brings that holistic approach, experience, and thought process to the table when serving you.

Brian currently serves on the Board of Directors at KBOO Community Radio and Livelihood NW. He lives in downtown Portland, Oregon and is active in the community. He is a northwest native and avid bike rider.
